Celebrant Led Ceremonies In Peterborough

As things currently stand, to become legally married in England you EITHER need to be married by a minister of religion in their church OR have a Registrar conduct your ceremony either at the Registrars Office or at a Licensed Venue.

A church wedding is what it is! If you have a connection to a church and want what they offer then they will marry you.

If you wish to be married by a Registrar though then you have 3 options:

1) A basic ‘office only’ package at the Registrars Office – this includes yourselves as the couple and two witnesses. The cost of the ceremony will be £46 (at least that’s the cost right now here in Peterborough)

2) At ceremony room at the Registrars office, which accommodate between 6 and 30 people and costs between £140 and £405 plus the cost of venue hire for the reception.

3) Inviting a registrar to a Licensed Venue where they conduct a ceremony – which on Saturday’s is currently £645.00 plus the cost of venue hire.

I Do With You® offer another way - the Celebrant-led ceremony.

Let’s name the obvious though - celebrant-led does not include the legally binding element of marriage BUT precisely because of that it allows every ceremony to be endlessly creative and tailored to each couple’s specific wishes and what’s more is that you can have a Celebrant led ceremony anywhere – such as Lakeside Kitchen and Bar.

The team at Lakeside will welcome you to come and have a look around their venue. They’ll talk you through the packages they offer and the options available to you. You’ll agree your preferred date with them and start to plan your day.

Your marriage does need to be officially registered at your local Registers Office where you book an appointment to go and sign a declaration and say contractual words with your two witnesses. For further details click here for the City Council’s wedding page. Registering your marriage can be done at any point either before or after the ceremony depending on your preference. I Do With You® then conduct the ceremony as part of your day so that you can celebrate as you wish.

You will have an initial meeting with I Do With You®, ideally at Lakeside, it’s what we call our ‘no obligation consultation’, from there you decide if you wish to proceed. We then meet with you as many times as is needed to create your moment.

As each ceremony is unique it’s entirely up to you what’s included in the ceremony. There can be vows, promises and an exchange of rings, all of which reflect your ideas, values and beliefs. Maybe you’d like to tell the story of how you met and the journey you've both been on for you to now be celebrating your love for each other surrounded by family and friends. At I Do With You® we have a creative writer so these elements are crafted to your specific details and wishes.

But then there might be other personalized details that you'd like to include such as hand fasting, unity candle or sand, crystals or something totally unique to yourselves. I Do With You® put these details together with you and make it clear how we will choreograph the day so you can enjoy the moment.

I Do With You® also offer Renewal of Vows, which works in exactly the same way as a wedding ceremony but without the need to register the wedding.

You’ll agree a price with Lakeside for the venue hire and all that they provide. You’ll also choose one of the packages that I Do With You® offer. These range in price from £345 to £595 depending on the type of ceremony and the elements you’d like to be included. Our prices are agreed up front, there are no hidden costs and no surprise extras!
