Neurodiversity and Ability: Evie’s Inspiring Contribution to Our Team at Lakeside Kitchen and Bar

Evie is a neurodivergent team member and lives with a range of disabilities, including cerebral palsy and autism. With the right support in place, Evie thrives in a busy hospitality environment — demonstrating reliability, compassion, and a strong work ethic every day.

Outside of work, Evie enjoys latch hooking with her Mum, volunteering at the local hospital where she chats with patients and helps with ward duties, and attending college as part of a supported internship. She also loves spending time with family and friends on shopping trips and walks.

Evie’s long-term goal is to work in elderly care. Her natural empathy, patience, and desire to help others make this a career path she is well suited to, and one we are proud to support her towards.

Evie’s story is a reminder that with understanding, reasonable adjustments, and inclusive workplaces, people with disabilities are not only employable — they are invaluable.
